The Workshop Series

Creating Opportunities

We dreamed of a way to bring our floral industry relationships and skills together to create opportunities for our neighbors. First, we opened the Botanical Brouhaha - Garden Style shop, and soon we realized we could accomplish even more with the help of industry friends. Holly Chapple and Hitomi Gilliam, AIFD partnered with us to launch the Botanical Brouhaha Garden Style Workshop Series November 5-6, 2018. With their help, we were able to raise funds to address needs in our local community. As word of the Garden Style project spread, additional flower friends and renowned speakers began stepping up to help. On April 2, 2019, Françoise Weeks and Jennifer Ederer presented the next workshop in our series. In November 2019, Susan McLeary, Phil John Perry, and Holly Chapple will join us for the next workshop in the Botanical Brouhaha Workshop Series .

Workshop Details

Get ready for a new workshop experience. By simply purchasing a ticket, you're partnering with us to make a difference in the lives of local families. The proceeds from the workshop will provide housing & training opportunities for the local community. And, because we created this workshop series to provide opportunities for our neighbors, we're all about the relationships behind the designs. Sure, we want you to learn new skills and tips of the trade from our world-renowned instructors, but we also want you to meet them and know them as people. We want you to ask questions - the deep ones you've been wondering. We'll provide time throughout the day intended for making connections, sharing stories and finding encouragement. Together, we will all make a difference.

Our venue for the intensive hands-on workshop is the Square One Downtown Bryan Event Center located at 211 W William Joel Bryan Parkway. Our Premier & Red Carpet Event for the international floral creative collaboration - The Daylily will be held at the historic Queen Theater located at 110 South Main Street in Downtown Bryan. The old movie house was originally built in 1914 and fell into disrepair for several years before undergoing a loving restoration. The Queen reopened on May 4th, 2018 as a single screen film house and performance venue.

An international floral Short film collaboration

Day Lily

We’re partnering with creative film makers in Bryan, Texas, and Manchester, England, to bring you an international floral short film collaboration premiering for the first time at The Queen Theater in Downtown Bryan. Members of the community who participate in the film will be present to walk the red carpet in pieces created during our hands-on intensive floral workshop earlier in the week. After the premiere viewing, we will hold a panel for Q&A. You don’t want to miss this short film collaboration.

Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.
